Freon

An aerosol propellant, refrigerant, or organic solvent consisting of one or more of a group of chlorofluorocarbons and related compounds. They are stable, nonflammable, low toxicity gases or liquids which have generally been used as refrigerants and as aerosol propellants.

Compressor

The power unit of the air-conditioning system that puts the refrigerant under high pressure before it pumps it into the condenser, where it changes from a gas to a liquid. A fully functioning compressor is necessary for the air-conditioning system to provide peak performance.

Evaporator

A device in a process used to turn the liquid form of a chemical substance such as water into its gaseous-form/vapor.

Copper Tubing

It is most often used for heating systems and as a refrigerant line in HVAC systems.

Rubber Insulation

In either its natural or synthetic form, rubber has been used as an insulator since 1870. The tightly bound electrons are not free to be shared by neighbouring atoms. The properties of rubber also cause the electrons to slow down and eventually prevent them from moving at all.
